Bessie "Nanny" Turner's Obituary
A funeral service celebrating the life of Bessie (Nanny) Marie Turner, 85, will begin at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Radar Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Rd., Longview Texas. Officiating will be Pastor Danny Warbington. Interment will follow services at Memory Park in Longview. Friends are welcome to join the family for a time of visitation at the funeral home from 6 pm-8pm Friday, July 31, 2015.
Bessie was born in Farmerville, La., July 21, 1930 to Jack and Columbia Woodlief. She went to be with her heavenly Father July 29, 2015.Bessie loved her Lord and Savior and her family. She was also dedicated to her job of 40 years working at Wanda's Kountry Korner. She was loved by all and inherited the nickname "nanny". She was everybody's "nanny" and everybody loved her. She never met a stranger and tried to help anyone in need. She will be missed my many.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Turner, mother, Columbia Woodlief and father, Jack Woodlief.
She is survived by daughters, Wanda Bullock, Brenda Gowan and her husband Chuck Gowan, sons, Larry Turner and Gary Wayne Turner.9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Three sisters, Betty Perdue, Dorothy Keck, Jackie Gladden and her husband Charles and one brother, Doyle Woodlief and his wife Earlene.
