Bertha Opal Thompson Graveside services for Bertha Opal Thompson, 86, of Longview, formerly of Dover, AR. will be held at 10 AM Thursday, January 5, 2006 in Floyd Cemetery with the Reverend Scott Schulik of Mobberly Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview, 1617 Judson Road. Mrs. Thompson was born on March 19, 1919 in Alexanderia, LA., to Bill and Molly Terry. She passed away on Monday, January 2, 2006 in a Longview hospital. Before retirement, Mrs. Thompson was a Nurses Aide. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dover, Arkansas. A loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Allen Thompson; infant son, Jerry Lee White; and grandson, David Allen Southerland. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Edwards of Longview, Sandra Hampton of Dover, AR.; son, Don White of Gladewater, grandchildren, Brandalyn McGrede Gray, Shawn McGrede, Joe Edwards, Kyle Edwards, Kimberly White, Nicole White Hickerson, Justin White, Wesley Southerland, Jason Southerland, and Angela Hampton; as well as eleven great grandchildren.
