Bernis A. Davis' Obituary
Services for Bernis Adrian Davis, 80, of Longview, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday March 24th 2008 at Mobberly Baptist Church, with Reverend Scott Shulik officiating, under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Interment will follow at Lakeview Mausoleum.
He passed away on Good Friday, March 21st 2008 at a local medical center.
He was born December 28, 1927 in Mitchell, Louisiana and had been a resident of Longview for the past 59 years. He served his country during World War II as a Private First Class in the US Army. He retired from Texas Eastman after 34 years of faithful service as a production specialist.
He served Mobberly as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. His hobbies included master carpentry, welding, gardening, and raising a loving family.
He was preceded in death by his wife Doris Bounds Davis on December 20th 2007, and brother, Doy H Davis.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children Jerry R. Davis of Longview, Rhonda Davis Martin and husband Ted of Rockwall; grandchildren, Chris Martin and wife Scarlett of Rockwall, Kyle Davis and wife Melissa of Tulsa OK, Drew Davis Martin of Rockwall, Sarah Davis of Longview, Ryan Davis of Longview; great granddaughter, Andie Noel Martin of Rockwall; sister, Helen Davis Ogden and husband T.J. of Longview; brother, Milton Davis and wife Martha of Dallas.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday March 23, 2008, at Rader Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mobberly Baptist Church building fund.
