Mass of Christian Burial for Bernice M. ?Bonnie? Delaune, 81, of Longview, will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, April 22, 2003 at St. Anthony?s Catholic Church. A rosary will be recited on Monday evening, April 21, 2003 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview, 1617 Judson Road. Burial will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington, Louisiana.
Mrs. Delaune was born on March 2, 1922 in Port Barre, LA. to Valery and Louise Mayer. She passed away on April 17, 2003 in a Fort Worth hospital.
She attended Belle Rose High School, and Touro School of Nursing in New Orleans, LA. She was a Registered Nurse in both Texas and Louisiana. She served as a nurse supervisor for Dr. Billeaudeaux in Klotzville, LA. For 9 years, and a school nurse for the Longview Independent School District for 21 years. She was a Program Chairman for the Area School Nurse Association, a member of the Texas Retired Teachers Association, and a L.S.U. Alumni Assistant Treasurer.
A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Mrs. Delaune was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jules A. Delaune, Jr., of Longview; sons and daughter-in-law, Dr. Jules M. Delaune and his wife Rebecca of Fort Worth, Robert L. Delaune of Austin; four grandchildren, James, Adam, Valerie, and Tony Delaune; and one sister, Dorothy Mayer of Washington, La.
