Bernice Irene Stjernstrom, age 97, passed away on June 21, 2003 in Tyler, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Nels Stjernstrom in 1995. She was born January 23, 1906 in Dumont, Minnesota. She graduated from Central High School, St. Paul, Minnesota and was a graduate of Mounds Midway School of Nursing. She worked for many years in Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota as a surgical nurse and director of nursing services. Throughout her life she demonstrated her deep commitment to Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was a dedicated student of the Bible and had a servant?s heart. She is survived her sons and daughters-in-law, James and Kathryn Stjernstrom of Prosper, Donald Stjernstrom of Tyler, 5 grandchildren, Jill, Scott, John, Eric, and Carl, and 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, June 24, 2003, in Rosewood Park?s Mausoleum Chapel with Reverend Lanny Bridges officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Roses under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday evening June 23, 2003 at the funeral home.
