Services for Bennie Swayze Wright , 87, of Longview will be 9 AM Friday, December 26th at Rader Funeral Home Chapel with David Cotham officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 PM at the Elgin Cemetery in Elgin, Texas. Mrs. Wright died Sunday, December 21st at her residence.
She was born on April 13, 1921 in Grainger, Texas to Martin and Inez Woods Swayze. A long-time resident of Longview, she was a member of the Pine Tree Church of Christ, a homemaker, and was employed by Beall's Department Stores and Perry Brothers Variety Stores.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Martin F. Swayze and sister, Gladyne Inman. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Maxie L. Wright of Longview, a son, H. Thomas Kornegay of Houston; grandchildren, Kyle and Hunter Kornegay; great grandchildren, Alexander, Grace, and Caroline Kornegay; sister, Margaret Ann Campbell of Austin; brother, Donald M. Swayze of Lago Vista, Texas.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening at Rader's 6 to 8 PM.
