Bennie Ray Pollard's Obituary
Services for Bennie R. Pollard, 67, of Longview will be at 2 PM Monday, January 9, 2006 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Pollard and Rev. Billy Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at 4:30 at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Winnsboro. Mr. Pollard joined his Heavenly Father Friday morning in a Longview hospital with his loving wife of 30 years by his side. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Sunday, January 8, 2006 at the funeral home.
Mr. Pollard was born on May 8, 1938 in the Cartwright Community in Wood County, Texas to Rev. J.C. Pollard and Cecil Ida Combs Pollard. He proudly served in the U. S. Army in the early sixties. He has been a resident of Longview for the past 50 years. He retired from Red Arrow Freight Lines where he worked in upper management and met his wife Patsy. After retirement, Mr. Pollard owned and operated an Archway/Mothers Cookies distributorship.
Bennie, a devoted husband and loving PawPaw, is survived by his wife of 30 years, Patsy Pollard; daughters and sons-in-law Patti and Geno Pitts, Krista and Tim Mahler, and Shannon and Bo Brewer; grandchildren Tanner Pitts, Logan Pitts, Katie Mitchell and Amanda Mitchell; brothers and sisters-in-law Rev. Johnny Pollard and his wife Jane, and James and Nita Pollard; sisters and brother-in-law Peggy Wall, and Elaine and Earl Campbell; and numerous nieces, nephews and other friends and family members.
Bennie?s quick-witted sense of humor and loving heart will be missed by all who knew him.
