Bennie Elizabeth Boyd's Obituary
Funeral services for Mrs. Bennie E. Boyd will be held on Friday, September 9, 2022, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Henderson at 10:00 AM; a visitation will be held at the Funeral Home of Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Mrs. Boyd will be laid to rest at Pleasant Hills Cemetery in Overton TX following the Funeral Service. Mrs. Boyd passed away on September 3, 2022, in Longview TX surrounded by her family.
Bennie was born in Rusk County on June 23, 1946, to parents Harmon "Jim" and Ita Akin. She was the 3rd of eleven children her parents were blessed with. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she was not shy about spoiling them with delectable sweets and baked goods that she would make by hand. Bennie loved any time she got to spend with her family, and they will treasure every moment that they got to spend with her.
Bennie was preceded in death by her parents, Harmon (Jim) and Ita Akin; her husband Curtis Boyd; her brother Carl Akin; brother-in-law Dave Hartman, and Mark Jr. . Those left to cherish their memories of Bennie include her children James Boyd of Hallsville, Robert Boyd of Longview, and Teresa (Mark) Williams of Harleton; grandchildren Jaymes (Stacey) Pruitt and Shyenne (Micah) Sessom both of Harleton, and “Junior” of Hallsville. Bennie will also be remembered by her great-grandchildren Jordan, Gunner, Ciara, Paisley, Albery and Westley; siblings Lynn Ross Akin (Linda), Patricia Harman, Brenda Richardson, Joe Akin (Lynn), Troy Akin (Becci), Tim Akin (Candy), Lula Chote (Ron), Sandy Akin, and Betty Ponder (Steve) in addition to her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
