Beatrice Barrett's Obituary
Funeral services for Beatrice Barrett, age 97, of Henderson, TX formally of Mt. Enterprise will be at 10:00a.m. September 1, 2012 at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Mt. Enterprise with Rev. Dean Grigsby and Rev. Darrell Owens officiating.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Heights Cemetery in Mt. Enterprise under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Henderson.
Beatrice was born August 22, 1915 to Will and Hattie Ash Thomas in Rusk County.
She worked with her husband Horace Barrett in several business adventures and was appointed to complete his term as Justice of the Peace at his death in 1989. She was a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. She was one of the first 2 women to take the oath for jury duty in Rusk County in 1955.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her daughter Jannette Elliott in 1979, 4 brothers and a sister.
Survivors include a son & daughter-in-law James "Bo" & Jane Barrett, sister Billie Owens, four grandchildren; Sandra & Mitch Davis, Diane & Mark Ellis, Jim & Dee Elliott & Teresa Elliott, seven great-grandchildren; Jason Ellis, Sarah Clark, Jeramey Elliott, Mallory Spencer, Twink Ritter, Tara Johnson, Alexia Harris and 2 great-great-grandchildren Kaylie Burnes & Ashton Clark.
Visitation will be held from 5:30pm to 7:30pm Friday August 31, 2012 at Rader Funeral Home of Henderson.
Pallbearers will be Jason Ellis, Jeramey Elliott, Nate Clark, Shade Spencer, Jay Ritter and Levi Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Lee, Iven Moore, Jerry Owens, Davey Williams and Wallace Donaho.
