Barry Edward Sinclair's Obituary
Barry Edward Sinclair passed into the hands of the Lord on October 22, 2024. Barry was born September 6, 1956, in Houston, Texas, son of Joseph Edward Sinclair, Jr. (Ed) and Wanda Gregory Sinclair. He was a torch bearer and later an acolyte at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Houston then went to Tyler Junior College. Afterwards he moved to Louisiana where he worked at the family-owned business, Wakefield Cattle Company meat processing plant while residing at the Wakefield Plantation in Wakefield, Louisiana with his grandparents. He then went to work at the Crown Zellerback paper mill. Later he moved to Longview, Texas where he worked for Stemco in their foundry, then for LeTourneau Technologies as a machinist and for O & D Manufacturing, also as a machinist. After several years he toured the United States as an over the road truck driver then later returned to O & D full time as a machinist.
Barry’s favorite sports were fishing and hunting. Growing up in Houston, he primarily hunted doves, quail, geese and deer. He loved fresh and inshore and offshore saltwater fishing, and he was extremely good at both. He would usually out fish anyone he was fishing with. He also enjoyed gardening and cooking.
Barry was a very generous man and was always willing to help anyone out at a moment’s notice. He also loved nature and enjoyed personal time in the outdoors. In January 2022 he purchased some acreage that he spent quite a bit of time at, preparing it for a home site just a few miles from his favorite fishing lake.
Barry was preceded in death by his parents Ed and Wanda Sinclair, and is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Phillip and Julie Sinclair, nieces Cheryl Pelzel and her family, and Sarah Dobbs and her family, nephew Matthew Sinclair, two uncles, and numerous cousins and their families.
A memorial service for Barry Edward Sinclair will be held November 16, 2024, at 10:00AM at Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Longview, Texas and will be officiated by cousin, Pastor Ricky Sinclair. There will be a columbarium visitation and family reception after the service at Lakeview Memorial Gardens located at 5000 W. Harrison Rd., Longview, Texas.
