Graveside services for Barney Ray Reese, 77, of Longview will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at Gum Springs Cemetery, with Major John Queener of the Salvation Army officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. He passed away Saturday, May 7, at his son?s residence in Joinerville.
Mr. Reese was born January 14, 1928 in Gum Springs, and was a longtime resident of Longview. He retired from the Resistol Hat Company as a machine operator after 17 years service, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Kathy Reese of Joinerville; daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Terry Stone of Elizabeth City, NC, and Michelle and Frank Valenza of Longview; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother, Raymond Reese; sisters, Charlene Nilson, Claudette Pitman, and Carolyn Fleming.
