Barbara Jean Bolin Stanley's Obituary
Barbara Jean Bolin Stanley, age 82, of Longview, Texas arrived at her
heavenly home on February 22, 2023. The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. A graveside service will be noon at Memory Park on Saturday, February 25, 2023.
Jean was born on August 11, 1940 in Colorado City, Texas to Robert and
Eunice Bolin. Jean was a loving homemaker and hardworking mom. Jean
was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church where she grew in the
knowledge and love of her Lord and Savior. She was affectionately known
as “Mama Jean” to many students at Macedonia. She taught Sunday School,
sponsored many youth activities, supported and attended mission work,
and joyfully sang in the choir.
Jean & LA loved traveling in their motorhome, especially when the
traveling included Southern Gospel concerts. She had an ear for music and
loved playing her piano. She loved spending time with her family. She
would often laugh continuously while facetiming great-grandkids or
watching videos of them. She made her love for family evident. She also
took delight in her steady dates with her church friends to play cards and
eat lunch. Jean was full of grace, a great listener, and made her love and
confidence in Christ obvious.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, LA Stanley. Those left to
cherish her memories are children Roy & Jena Peck of Hallsville and Nancy
& Jim Dillard of Waskom. She was blessed with step-children; Debra
Stanley of Jefferson, Beverly & Larry Quinn of Longview, Lonnie & Kahlan
Stanley of Longview, and Danny & Debra Kay Stanley of Kilgore; and her
brother Jimmy Bolin of Abilene. Jean also leaves behind many
grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and special
friends.
Thank you could never be enough to demonstrate our appreciation to the
workers at Buckner Westminster, and the nurses at HeartsWay Hospice for
the way they genuinely loved, served, and cared for Jean during her illness.
