Barbara Richie's Obituary
Barbara Richie, 89, of Longview passed away on June 3, 2018 at her home in Longview.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 5th from 5 – 7 pm at Rader Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Longview Missionary Baptist Church with her Pastors Nathan Rogers and Tony Harp officiating. Private burial will follow the service.
Barbara Richie was born on January 14, 1929 to Benjamin Franklin and Gladys Harp in Teague, Texas. She graduated from Longview High School with honors in 1946 and attended BMI Business School. She married the love of her life Buck Richie in 1946. She worked for the Gregg County Tax office for 28 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Buck Richie and brother Jerry Harp.
Barbara is survived by her children, Jerry Richie and wife, Jeannie, Barbara Duncan and husband, Ronnie; grandchildren, Jennifer Moody, Misty Hassell and husband, Gary, Steven Duncan and great grandchildren, Dusty Richie, Hunter and Mason Hassell all from Longview. And many nieces and nephews.
In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the LMBC Building Fund, 800 E. Loop 281, Longview, TX 75605.
