Barbara Champion Pruitt's Obituary
Barbara Champion Pruitt was born May 22, 1932, in Nacogdoches, TX to Curtis Ray and Zula Champion, and passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2016, in Longview. She attended SFA, Kilgore College, and graduated from UT Tyler with a BS in Nursing. Mrs. Pruitt formerly worked for Good Shepherd Medical Center and Meadow Pines in Longview and worked at UT Health Center at Tyler for 20 years.
Mrs. Pruitt loved to travel and traveled extensively. The most important thing in her life was her 3 daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Longview.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Kenneth Ray Champion; sister, Wanda Champion Guillot; and granddaughter, Krista Michelle Williams Hatt.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sister, Betty Stevick; daughters, Jeanne Pruitt, Kay Pruitt Leonard and Donna Pruitt Hagen; grandkids, Patrick Williams and wife Brittanee, Jake and Mason Leonard, and Joel Eades and wife Lucy; 9 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Bettye Champion.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 12, 2016, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Burial will follow in Rosewood Park. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
