Richard & I are forever grateful for the love and support of my cousin Barbara, and all her siblings, who never questioned their widowed Mom's decision to take my brother Isaac & I, & later our sister Lydia, into their home during a time of our parents' financial hardship. Barbara hosted my bridal shower at her home; but is was some years later that I realized (like her Mom) she had sacrificed from her own limited resources to do so. Barbara strove to live in obedience to God, being a good steward of all He entrusted to her. She could be trusted to tell others what she believed was right or wrong, but more important, she looked for ways to do her part in doing good. Everyone who knew her knew she was a Christian. I know she is finally at rest in the arms of Jesus, holding hands with Mom, Bonnie, Anna, William, Georgia, Dola, and their baby sister Theresa, and one day soon, I too, will see her again in heaven!
