Barbara Johnson Knutson's Obituary
Services for Barbara Johnson Knutson, 84, of Longview will be 10 AM Saturday, February 16, 2008 at the First Lutheran Church with Reverend Phil Fenton officiating. Entombment will follow in Rosewood Park Mausoleum. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mrs. Knutson passed away Tuesday evening in a local hospital. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
Barbara was born on October 19, 1923, in Austin, Minnesota, to Simon and Elizabeth Johnson. She and her husband, Willard, have lived in Longview for over 23 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Longview, an excellent seamstress and a lifetime member of the Texas PTA. She enjoyed needlepoint, quilting, crafts and playing games with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Willard Dean Knutson of Longview; daughter & son-in-law, Jan & Don MacClary of Littleton, CO.; son & daughter-in-law, Larry & Debbie Knutson of Longview; daughter & son-in-law, Linda & John Hines of Katy, TX; & twelve grandchildren & eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother Walton Johnson of Albert Lea, MN., a sister Ethel Corbin of Austin, MN, a brother & sister-in-law Richard & Pat Johnson of Sun City, AZ. & many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth & Simon Johnson, two sisters, Eleanor Wakefield & Lois Fisher, and a grandson, Brad Lemmerman.
