Barbara Jordan
Barbara Jean Jordan of White Oak passed away Tuesday, February 08, 2005 in a Longview hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, February 11, 2005 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with the Reverends Richard Prather and Tony Hoefner officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. Friday prior to the service. Burial will follow in Rosewood Park.
Mrs. Jordan was born January 16, 1937 in Coolidge, Texas to Rex and Eleanor Riddle. She graduated from Teague High School in 1955 and enjoyed attending class reunions and homecomings. She retired from Paramount Packaging, currently known as Bemis Custom Packaging. Her most important job was being a devoted wife to her husband of 49 years, and a mother to her 3 children.
The Jordan?s lived in numerous cities and several states due to Mr. Jordan?s career with Sun Oil Company. They retired in White Oak. Mrs. Jordan was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church and at the time of her death a member of White Oak United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, B.W. Jordan of White Oak; her children: Konyia Jordan Williamson of Magnolia and her husband Gary, Bryan Jordan of Andrews, Texas, and Jay Jordan of Longview; mother Eleanor Riddle of Amarillo formerly of Teague; grandchildren, to whom she was known as AmMaw, Eric Winchester, Bryan Jordan Jr., Justin Jordan and great grandson Jeremy Jordan; Sister, Patsy Rieves and husband Don of Clearlake; brother: Rex Riddle and wife Marsha of Hammond, LA.; sister, Katherine Curry and husband Bobby of Amarillo; her aunt, Johnnell Robinson of Pasadena, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Faye Jordan of Hazelhurst, Mississippi,; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father Rex Riddle of Amarillo and Teague, Texas in 2001.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made in her name to White Oak United Methodist Church, 503 W. Center, White Oak, Texas 75693.
