Barbara Jean Barton's Obituary
Barbara Jean Barton, 76, of Henderson went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 7, 2012. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 2 PM At Rusk County Memorial Gardens with Dr. David Higgs officiating under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Henderson.
Barbara was born January 2, 1936 to George L. and Bonnie Jean Dollar Hardy in Henderson , Texas . She had worked 13 years as a volunteer for Gaston Museum , Joinerville , Texas . She said the preservation of the area history and heritage for present and future generations is very important to her. During her years of volunteering, I served as Treasurer, Chairman of the Board, and Curator. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Henderson .
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harland to whom she was married for 55 years, and her grandson, Ryan Alford.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Sherri Sadler & Paul and Beverly Rivers & Rickey, Grandchildren; Lee Sadler and Cara Buysse of Austin, Joel Sadler of Austin, Sam Sadler and Melanie Dumas, Brandon Sadler and wife Savana of Colorado, Erin Wantoch, Jared Haydel and wife Rhonda of Longview, Trent Haydel and Sarah Hill, Taylor Haydel and Wife Jenna of San Antonio, Hannah and Dustin Barron of Henderson, Chris and Leslie Rivers of Kilgore, Great Grandchildren; Hunter Davis, Faith Davis, Phenix Rivers, Mavricks Rivers, Evan Haydel, Anna Wantoch and Kaydence Sadler. Her sister, Linda Abbott and husband, Richard of Nacogdoches and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will meet friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until 1:30 pm Saturday prior to the graveside service.
A special thank you to those who took care of our mother, Heart to Heart hospice, Dr. Kiser and the sweet nurses at Good Shepherd Hospital , and especially to Rader Funeral Home.
