Funeral service for Barbara Fergusson Dunlap, 77, of Longview will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2014 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with Richie Hamm and Jay Lockhart officiating. Interment will follow in Rosewood Park. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 27, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Dunlap was born December 4, 1936 in Port Arthur, TX and had been a resident of Longview since 1968. She was a retired secretary for the Pine Tree Independent School District and a member of Pine Tree Church of Christ.
Barbara was a devoted Christian and a loving mother and grandmother. She found joy in serving others. She was not extravagant, yet she lived a life of elegance. Her selfless attitude and sense of humor will be remembered by all those who knew and loved her.
Mrs. Dunlap was preceded in death by her parents W.L. and Demetra Fergusson and her husband of 40 years, Orville Dunlap.
Those left to cherish her memory are her brother Larry Fergusson and wife Penny; sister in law Patsy Blank;
son Michael Dunlap and wife Denise; daughter Lisa Stuart and husband Britt; daughter Terri Holstead and husband Bruce; 8 grandchildren including Matthew Dunlap, Jason Dunlap, Ashley King, Shane Stuart, Brittini Cronkright, Shali Alaniz, Dylan Holstead, and Brady Holstead; and 5 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
