Barbara Ann Long's Obituary
Barbara Ann Long, born October 21, 1932 went to see her Lord on September 19, 2003. Preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Hal ? Jack? Long, Jr.
She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church where she was an active usher, a member of Daughters of the King, loved working in the gift shop and was truly blessed with her time with meals on wheels. As a dedicated member of East Texas Republican Women her loyalty showed her spirit.
She loved the lake, camping, boating, dancing; the Dallas Cowboys and watching her grandsons play baseball, football and soccer. She loved life. She enjoyed having her weekly lunches with her girlfriends and the monthly dinners with her old school cronies and friends.
As kids, she was always there for us. After school snacks, weekend sleepovers, dropping us off at the Arlyne Theatre, or having the boat packed to go to the lake when dad got off work.
Barbara Long touched people?s lives all over the world. Japan, China, Africa, Scotland, Greece, Italy, Mexico. From coast to coast. She even had friends in Washington. She never met a stranger and brought joy and sunshine and laughter everywhere she went. As a mother-in-law and grandmother she loved and blessed like the mother she was.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Blake and Suzanne Long of Longview; daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Terry Burghart of Shreveport, Louisiana; son and daughter-in-law, Kelly Jack and Amy Long of Longview; four grandsons, Blane, Chad, Payton and Tanner Long and four special grand dogs.
Memorial Services will be held at Two O?clock pm Tuesday September 23, 2003 at Trinity Episcopal Church with Father Milton Black and Verger John C. Murphy. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Monday September 22, 2003 from 6 pm until 8 pm. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice in honor of Barbara Ann Long.
