B.A. PLUMMER
Services for B.A. Plummer , 90, of Longview will be 2:00 pm Monday, February 18th at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with Robert Johnson and Dan Manuel officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer. Mr. Plummer died Thursday morning at a local hospital.
He was born May 2, 1917 in the James community in Upshur County. A former resident of Gilmer and longtime resident of Longview, B.A. was a member of the Longview Church of Christ. He served with the U.S. Army's 68th medical regiment during WWII and was retired from Texas Eastman where he was employed as a boiler fireman.
B.A. was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Until he was unable to do so because of health, he was active in church work and was known locally as a very talented clock repairman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred in 1991, and is survived by his daughters, Gay Von Townsend and husband, Buddy of Thorndale, Texas, Audrey Manuel and husband, Dan of Palestine, Texas, and Cindy Samford of Longview; grandchildren, Danna Collins, Amanda Lane, Rena Samford and Miranda Samford; great grandchildren, Luke Lane, Chloe Collins, and Clayton Collins; a sister-in-law, Nellie Plummer of Diana and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Sunday afternoon 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
