I was visiting Sara and her family in Dallas and when I returned to Longview I learned of Lorene's death. I am sorry that I missed her memorial service.
She was a remarkable woman who influenced the school, church, and community with her positive thoughts. She will be missed.

Just seeing your mother walk into a room brought smiles to us all. I first met her when I worked at Jodie McClure Elementary, then when I worked in Engineering Dept. & later in Bookstore at LeTourneau College. I learned much from both your parents. It was an inspiration just to meet them at the mall, or ROC when he'd be pushing her in wheelchair, they loved each other so much. I'm a proud owner of their book.##imported-begin##R. Sorry to hear of our loss of Dr. Archer. She was a wonderful teacher and employer while I was a student and education dept aide at ETBC. Education is truly the gift that keeps on giving. I know that lives way into the future will be touched because she touched the lives of all her education students. Loving memories.

Dr. Archer was one of my favorite teachers at ETBU. She taught me to always learn my students names on the first day. I'll never forget the first day in her class and we had to learn all of our classmates names----something I never forgot. She was a perfect Christian example for all of her students. Dear Family,
As a student of Dr. Archer I was enlightened, entertained, and inspired. As a teacher, I use things that she taught me every day, and think fondly of her often. I will always think of her when I sing "The Star Spangled Banner." I have quoted her as recently as today, and longed for her wisdom and encouragement. I have often wished I could call my principal and say, "I can't smile today, please get a substitute for my class," as she often wished we could do. Even though I haven't seen her for many years, she will always be an important part of my life. I will miss her presence in the world, but I am glad that she is with the Lord.
