Ava Nell Richardson's Obituary
Funeral services for Lois Ava Nell Richardson, 90, of Longview will be held at 12 noon Thursday, November 9, 2005, at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Road, with Dr. Joe Hocking officiating. Burial will be in Baird, TX at Admiral Cemetery.
Ms. Richardson was born July 5, 1915, in Baird, Texas, to George and Julia Richardson. She moved to Longview in 1935. She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers Norman and Thomas Richardson. She attended BMI Business School, where she later taught typing. She worked for several years in accounting for Red Ball Motor Freight. She retired after serving as a bookkeeper for Johnny Holloway Bookkeeping, for Cherokee Water Company and Pinecrest Country Club.
Stricken with polio at an early age, Ms. Richardson faced many challenges. However, she seemed to overcome every obstacle that came her way. Although Ms. Richardson never married and had no children of her own, she was definitely treated and loved as a mother and grand-mother by her nieces and nephews, and by her great nieces and great-nephews.
She is survived by one brother and sister-in-law; James B. & Bonnie Richardson, another sister-in-law, Lillie Richardson, a nephew Billy Ray Richardson, a nephew David B. and Ann Richardson, a niece Debbie and Ken Dunaway, great-nephews David B. and JoAnna Richardson II, David and Teri Carter, Stephen and Angie Carter, Kevin and Becky Carter, Terry and Alley Carter, Gregg and Ashley Carter, and many great-great nephews and nieces.
