Ava Nell Barron's Obituary
Ava Nell Barron, born November 10, 1929, went to be with the Lord May 12, 2004. Visitation will be at Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Rd., Friday evening 6 to 8 PM. Graveside services will be 2 PM Saturday at the Union Grove Cemetery in Troup, Texas with Rev. Randall Bryant officiating.
Ava Nell was a special lady. She was the apple of her mother?s and father?s eyes. They gave her the nickname of ?Pumpkin?. She clung to her big brother, Cecil, depending on him to look after her. He always addressed her as ?Punk?. She looked to her ?Aunt Doris? as a big sister and a role model. She loved family gatherings and everyone was always special to her. Most of the family gathered at ?Uncle Fred?s? and ?Aunt Addie?s? home. Christmas was a very special time. Her mom and ?Aunt Addie? would work in the kitchen baking pies and cakes while waiting for Santa Claus to arrive. Ava Nell loved fishing with her cousin Dorothy Mae and the fish dinner afterward along with all the fun and fellowship. Best of all was the country church she attended, The Red Oak Flat Assembly of God. This is where she took Christ as her savior.
She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as an operator in Grand Prairie and later for LeTourneau in Longview as a secretary until her retirement.
Ava Nell was preceded in death by her father and mother, George and Essie Keel; brother, Cecil Keel and two sisters who died shortly after birth. All were residents of Troup. Ava Nell is survived by her two sons, Walter Barron of Joplin, Missouri and Raymond Barron and his wife, Minnie of East Mountain and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She will surely be missed by all her family and a host of friends. She left good times for all to remember. Most blessed of all, she is with Christ her savior.
