Aunita Alwanda Harroun Davis' Obituary
Funeral services for Aunita Alwanda Harroun Davis, 88, of Big Sandy will be held at the Rosewood Mausoleum Chapel on Monday, January 21, 2013 at noon, with Bro. Dennis Erwin officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum. Mrs. Davis passed away in Houston on Thursday, January 17, 2013.
Mrs. Davis was born in Jacksboro, TX on March 4, 1924 to Byron Arthur and Sally Elizabeth Harroun. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Pasadena; Tx. Mrs. Davis married Johnnie L. Davis in 1943 in Winnie, Texas. Bro. Johnnie L. Davis passed away in April of 2003.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 60 years.
She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law Janice A. Davis of Houston, TX, Johnita E. and Edmund Matkins of Houston, TX, sons and daughter-in-law Byron A. Davis of Bossier City La., Denzil A. and Marsha Davis of Houston, TX, granddaughters Alwanda Gray, Ashley Davis; grandsons Troy Cooper, Chris Davis, Duston Davis, Denzil Davis, II, Brent Davis, Clinton Matkins; ten great grandchildren and sister Zella McDowell of Longview TX.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Sunday evening Jan. 20, 2013 at the funeral home.
