Funeral services for Christine Shelton Lasyone, 89, of Longview will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 29, 2011 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with the Reverend E. G. "Buddy" Shelton and Jody Slaughter officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. She passed away Thursday morning, January 27, at her residence in Longview.
Mrs. Lasyone was born December 25, 1921 in Grant Parrish, LA to John and Cora Shelton and had been a resident of the Longview area since 1950. She was a homemaker and a former employee of Archway Cookies, Prowler Corp. and The Clairmont. She was a Baptist.
Mrs. Lasyone was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Otho Lasyone; sons Joe Lasyone, Bobby Lasyone and daughter-in-law Betty Lasyone; grandson, Curtis Lasyone; and 7 brothers and 3 sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Martha Chavis and husband, J.C., Jr. of Longview; daughter-in-law, Eunice Lasyone; brother, Alvin Shelton and wife Gloria Dale of Longview; grandchildren, Linda Spicer and husband Evan, Sharon Furlow and husband Richard, Susan Slaughter and husband Jody, Paula Zummo and husband Joseph, John Lasyone, Kevin Jones, Pamela Renea Jones, Miranda Clayborn and husband Billy, J. C. Chavis, III, Benjamin Chavis and Terry Gordon and wife Jan; 19 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
