Arva L. Clayton's Obituary
Arva Clayton of Longview passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 22, 2018. She was 91 years old. She was born in Pampa, Texas on October 20, 1926 to Orval Otto and Gracie Mae Bishop. Arva graduated from Saint Jo, Texas High School in 1943. She married a wonderful Christian man, Charley Clayton, in April 1943 in Gainesville, Texas during World War II. Her husband was gone overseas serving in the European theater until December 1945. When he returned, they began their married life together in Saint Jo. They were married 74 years. She was a secretary and homemaker. She played the piano and organ for several churches and taught piano lessons to many students. She and Charley spent their retirement years enjoying their four grandsons and their wives and their four great-grandchildren.
Arva is survived by her husband, Charley Clayton of Longview; her daughter, Linda Haynie of Longview; her son, Terry Clayton of San Antonio; four grandsons Rich Haynie, wife Dedra Haynie of Denver, Colorado; Charles Haynie, wife Amy Haynie of Tampa, Florida; Luke Haynie, wife Brittany Haynie of Denver, Colorado; Rory Haynie, wife Erika Haynie of McKinney Texas; great-grandchildren, Jackson Haynie, Ella Haynie, Juliette Haynie, and Jetter Haynie.
A private family visitation will be held at Rader Funeral Home of Longview. There will be a memorial service held at a later date. A memorial guestbook may be signed at www.raderfh.com.
