Jan. 6, 2017 I ran across Artie Lee's obit today and just learned of his passing. I grew up in Carlisle and always heard about Artie Lee from my daddy, Burton Franklin. He thought so much of him and considered him a dear friend. Daddy passed away in Feb. of 1982 and he had it written that he wanted Bro Artie Lee to preach his funeral. He could not do it because he'd just had surgery. I just know Daddy thought of him as a Godly man and a true friend. Just wanted to share this with you at this late date.

My parents, Floyd & Mable Francis, knew Artie Lee and families very well - starting in Carlisle days - as my grandmother once lived there. I knew him also and always enjoyed him and Curtiss and James Haskins when singing and playing hymns! Arties Lee was minister at the Henderson church where my Dad served as a deacon, etc. I keep up with his sister-in-law, Margaret (Paloma) weekly and she always updates me. My love and prayers to the families.
