Memorial services for Arthur William ?Bill? Phillips, Jr., of Marshall will be held at 10 Am Tuesday, November 8, 2005 at the Eastern Hills Church of Christ in Marshall. Arrangements are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
Arthur passed away on November 4, 2005 in Longview Regional Hospital after a very sudden illness.
He was born on August 31, 1932 in Ralston, PA., to Arthur W. Sr., and Grace Bastian Phillips. He was educated in Pennsylvania and attended college at San Diego State in California after serving in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
He worked for the Department of Defense and NAVY as a Missile Systems Manager and received the NAVY Civilian Meritorious Award and medal before he retired in 1988. He also received numerous other awards.
Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife, Geraldine ?Geri? Lively Phillips of Marshall; two sons, Arthur W. III Phillips and his wife, Lynn of Orange, Ronald Wayne Phillips and his wife, Dyona of Yorktown, VA.; daughter, Kimberly Phillips of Irving; four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Arthur was baptized into Christ in 1950 and was a member of the Eastern Hills Church of Christ in Marshall. He has been a Marshall resident since 1990.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Richard Charles Phillips who passed away in infancy; as well as one brother, Robert Phillips; and one sister, Jean Row.
In lieu of flowers, any expression of grief may be made in monitory form in Arthur?s name to the American Heart Association, 1125 Judson Road, Suite 150, Longview, Texas 75601.
