Arthur Lee Coleman
Art Coleman, a much-loved husband, father, and grandfather, died on Saturday, October 13, 2007 in Longview, TX. Art was 81.
Born to James and Sue Coleman on August 31, 1926, Art learned to love and appreciate family and to serve God with humility. After high school, Art served in the United States Navy with the rank of SC2C for seven years, serving in both World War II and the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in December of 1951, shortly after he married Ruth Bailey of Longview, TX. Together, they had three children. Art worked as a chemical operator for Texas Eastman for 25 years before retiring to enjoy gardening, books, football, and grandchildren. A member of Mobberly Baptist Church, Art served as a deacon.
In addition to his wife Ruth, Art Coleman is survived by his children, Kelly McGill, Keith Coleman, and Joe Coleman; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Mobberly Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at 10 am. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at Rader Funeral Home.
