Arline Jones McLester's Obituary
Arline McLester,90, of Navarro TX, passed away March 1, 2016 peacefully at her home in Longview,TX.
She was born October 17, 1925 in Navarro, TX. Arline graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1943, and was also a graduate of Kilgore College and LeTournaeu University. She was an East Texas entrepreneur and artist who loved to depict nature and God's beauty in China painting. Teaching China painting for four decades she spread her art throughout gaining lifetime friends on the way. She was a servant of the Lord and encompassed a servants heart. God led Arline to minister happily to everyone she met, never meeting a stranger and always willing to lend a hand she was loving and caring to all she came across. Gospel music was a big part of her upbringing creating joy in her life. She always loved all of her family even bringing together estranged relatives. Later in her journey she authored a book about her life, she was always eager to learn and loved history.
Arline was a loving mother of her four children Billy Joe McLester Jr. "Billy-Mac", Ronald "Steve" Mclester, Cynthia Rose McLester Thompson, and Pamela Sue McLester Aguilar. Attentive grandmother to an abundance of grandchildren, great grandchildren ,and one great-great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Rosa Ella Jones; four brothers, Reece, Alvin, James, and LH ; a sister ,Margarite; her late husband Billy Joe McLester Sr. she met in Witchita Falls, Tx marrying in 1945; a grandson; and,a great-granddaughter
Visitation will be held at Lakeview Baptist Church in Longview,TX on March 5, 2016 at 9:00a.m.
Funeral Service will follow after visitation at Lakeview Baptist Church on March 5, 2016 at 10:00a.m. with Pastor Ted White of Lakeview, and Minister Tommy Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood cemetery in Cosicana, TX.
