Ardelle Acker's Obituary
Ardelle "Dolly" Barlow Acker passed away on September 11, 2007 at her home in Kingwood, Texas. Dolly was born August 1, 1922. Her parents were Dean Swift and Linnie Mae Sharp Barlow. Dolly was the youngest of five children and were predeceased by her sisters, Arlene, Sybil, and Nelwyn, and her brother, Fred Terry. She was also predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Fred Douglas Acker, and her son Fred Douglas, Jr. Dolly is survived by her son, Ralph Terry Acker and wife, Karen, granddaughters, Lisa and Julie, and great grandchildren, Kayla, Daniel, Zachary and Caydn.
Dolly will be remembered by her family as a strong, independent person who quietly cared for her family.
She began her life as a wife and mother in Longview. She and Fred lived in Illinois, Indiana, and West Texas following the Oil Industry. They returned to Longview where they lived until moving to Kingwood in 1998 to be closer to Terry and his family. We will all miss her very much. Visitaiton will be held at Rader Funeral Home on Friday September 14, 2007 from 6pm until 8pm. Graveside services will be held at Ten O'clock Am Saturday September 15, 2007 at Memory Park Cemetery.
