Ara Eunice Burton Nettles of Longview, passed away at the age of 104 July 27, 2021. She was born to CE (Coon) and Margie Burton. She joined her sister Frances near Rosser, TX in Kaufman County. They became the little Burton girls. Read Obituary
This beautiful woman touched me and my family in so many ways. She gave beyond when it hurt, and was happy to do it. Love her so much, and Happy that she is with Henry and Francis.
What a beautiful testimony to her Almighty Savior Eunice modeled for me in her daily walk with Him. Talk about strength, perseverance, humility, grace, lovingkindess - Eunice embodied them all and more through her words put into action with her family, friends, and strangers, who she quickly turned into new friends. Her quick wit, her sense of humor, and her loyalty to "whose she was"-daughter of the King- was a daily testimony of where her solid faith and trust lie. I will miss Eunice, her spunk, her charm, but I am also pondering how much her smiling face must be glowing in awe at what all her eyes and hears are taking in and she has already heard from Jesus lips "Well done thou good and faithful servant." Eunice's life counted - all 104 years of them and her death was her doorway to the home she was specifically designed for, so what glorious days she is now enjoying for eternity!
Mrs. Nettles was a sweet friend and my customer at Albertsons for years. I will always remember our sweet visits and it was a pleasure to assist her. She always put a smile on my face and was an inspiration to all who knew her. We will miss her hugs in the hall at church and at Buckner. Thanks to her family for inviting us to her 100th birthday party.
We feel blessed just by knowing this wonderful lady. May God comfort you as only He can do.

Miss Eunice was an extraordinary lady! We were blessed to be her friends and neighbors for many years on Lake Palestine. We had "Camelot" on our great Angelina Drive for many years, many parties and a wonderful group who looked out for each other! And, Miss Eunice was right in the middle of everything! She was so much fun!
We send our prayers to David, Nancy, David, Fran and the rest of Miss Eunice's family and friends. Miss Eunice will always hold a very special place in our hearts.

Growing up with David as my best friend, I spent a lot of time with Mrs Nettles from the mid fifties on. She introduced me to a number of things including runny eggs and grits. She was simply the best in every way. She was the last of a large group of friends from church that included my parents. I know there is a huge reunion going on in heaven. We will miss her.
