Anthony Vozza's Obituary
Services for Anthony Vozza, 82, of Tyler, will be Friday, October 30, 2009, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview at noon with the Rev. Steve Beatty officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Park. Mr. Vozza passed away Sunday evening at his daughter's home in Longview. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 29, 2009, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Vozza was born on October 8, 1927, in Bergenfield, New Jersey. After high school, he proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Navy, where he was awarded the World War II Victory Medal. He attended college at Newark College of Engineering, where he obtained a Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering. Tony was married to Marian Vozza in 1966, and they had 2 children together, Arlene and Brenda. He also adopted Phillip and Cindy from Marian's previous marriage. He worked for over 30 years in Electronic Warfare at a Long Island, New York, company designing the electronic equipment that keeps military aircraft from being detected. He was one of the original designers of the jamming system on the EA-6B Prowler, which is still in use today. His daughter, Arlene, is also an Electrical Engineer and is following in his footsteps by flying the EA-6B in the U.S. Navy. His daughter, Brenda, is a Physician who practices internal medicine in both Longview and Henderson.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Marian Vozza; his daughters, Arlene Camp, Brenda Vozza-Zeid, and Cindy Klein; and his son, Phillip Vozza.
