Annie Marie Waller's Obituary
Annie Marie Waller, age 95, lifelong resident of Henderson, passed away September 22, 2022, at UT Health East Texas in Tyler. She was born October 11, 1926, in the Crim’s Chapel Community in Rusk County to Marvin and Minnie Waller. Ms. Waller attended local schools growing up and graduated from Laneville High School in 1945.
Ms. Waller worked at the Courthouse Café in downtown Henderson then later she worked at Henderson Clay Products from its beginning in the 1950’s until her retirement in 1982.
She was a devout Christian and an active member of First Baptist Church in Henderson. It was there she participated in the sewing ministry and was still active in the Tuesday morning sewing gatherings. Ms. Waller also enjoyed making caps for cancer patients.
Ms. Waller was a member of the Xi Nu Omicron Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi and was honored with an international award for being an active member for over 50 years.
She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and gardening. Her favorite activity was of course, family gatherings. Many holidays were enjoyed around her table. Ms. Waller was the heart and soul of the family and favorite aunt of all the nieces and nephews.
Her parents Raymond and Minnie Waller and her siblings Opal Jones, Bernice Suber, Louise Johnson, Alpheus Waller, Thelma Bristow, Velma Grider, Martha Swinney, Reo Waller, and nephew Joe Duncan, all preceded her in passing.
Those left to cherish her memory are her nieces and nephews Ottis Waller, Alan Bristow and his wife Peggy, “Bubba” Duncan and his wife Jane, Kay Munson, Ray Youngblood, David Swinney and his wife Gwenitta, Nancy Hillin and her husband Robert, Beverly Baughman, Scott Waller and his wife Lisa, and many great-nieces and -nephews. She will also be sorely missed by close friends and neighbors Elizabeth Anderson and Mike and Pam Ledbetter.
Funeral services for Ms. Waller will be Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at 3PM in the chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Henderson. Interment will follow Services at Crim’s Chapel Cemetery. There will be a time of viewing at the funeral home starting one hour prior to service time.
