ANNE COX
Kathryn Anne Cox was born June 15, 1952 to Gene and Joe Cox in Gladewater, Texas. After graduating from Spring Hill High School, Anne attended ETBU earning undergraduate degree and master's degrees from Stephen F. Austin University. As a music/physical education teacher, Anne taught hundreds of children a love and appreciation for music. In 2016, Ms. Cox retired from education after 35 years of service. Anne served in church ministry as choir director, youth director, and church secretary for Elmira Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Anne was preceded in death by her grandparents, Minos and Kathryn Harley and her parents Joe G. Cox, Jr. and Gene Cox. Anne is survived by sister Jo Karen Cox Hagler and husband Wayne Hagler of Longview; niece D’Anne Hagler Steele and husband Jason Steele and nephew Norman Hagler; Great nephews and niece Jordan Steele, Travis Steele and Reagan Steele; numerous cousins, and longtime partner in crime Tammy Bailey. She was also surrounded by a host of friends and loved ones.
Anne's favorite scripture was Romans 8:38-39, “For I am persuaded , that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us form the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord”.
A family directed memorial service to celebrate the life of Anne is scheduled for 10:00 am on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Elmira Chapel Church, Longview. The family will receive friends prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Elmira Chapel Building fund.
Cremation arrangements are under the care of Rader Funeral Home in Longview.
