Duncan, Annalee Murphy
Annalee Murphy Duncan was born on May 14, 1919 in Van Wert, Ohio to Ira and Mabel Murphy. She passed away on October 8, 2009 at the home of her son in Richardson, Texas. Soon after graduating near the top of her 1937 class at Van Wert High School, Annalee began working for the Central Manufacturers' Mutual Insurance Company in Van Wert and in 1942 she transferred to their San Francisco office. Later she worked for Standard Oil of California. On May 22, 1945 she married Navy Lieutenant Ben Duncan and following the war they moved to Texas. Since 1953 she has resided in Longview and was a charter member of Oakland Heights Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years. Annalee is survived by her children, Sheila Moore and her husband Gene of Dallas, Texas; Sylvia Kyle and her husband Fred of Jacksonville, Florida; and David Duncan and his wife Margaret of Richardson, Texas. She is also survived by grandchildren Geoff Moore, Emily Moore Kenton, Randy Duncan, Andrew Duncan and Claire Duncan; and 5 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on October 11, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Rader Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on October 12, 2009 at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary of Oakland Heights Baptist Church, located at the corner of Judson Road and Eden Drive. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the library at Oakland Heights Baptist Church, 1600 Judson Road, Longview, Texas 75601.
