Anna Belle Nelson Morgan's Obituary
Anna Bell Nelson Morgan went to be with the Lord on June 2, 2018 at her home surrounded by family. She was born on February 5, 1925 in Clarita, Oklahoma to Robert and Ethel Nelson. She is proceeded in death by her siblings Bonnie, Odis “Slim”, Almer “Freck”, Marvin, and 2 infant siblings. She is survived by her sister Viola of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She attended Southeastern Oklahoma State College and later got her librarian degree from North Texas State College in Denton, TX. She worked in a defense plant building bomber planes during World War II. She was introduced to Paul Odell Morgan by a mutual friend and they married in 1949 in her sister’s home in Clarita, Oklahoma. Paul was the love of her life and they had 3 children together Russ Morgan and spouse Cindy Morgan, Rex Morgan, and Paula Morgan Thomas and her significant other Lance Early. She worked as a teacher and librarian at Denison ISD, Gainesville ISD, and retired from Longview ISD in 1984. Her husband Paul died of a heart attack in 1970 and lost her first born Russ in 2001. She had 7 grandchildren Josh Thomas, Casey English and husband Chase English, Paul Morgan, Rex Morgan, Rachel Morgan, and Michelle Morgan who passed away this year. She has 7 great grandchildren who she cherished dearly. Her niece Virginia Mann lived with her and took care of her for the last year and a half in her home. She built her Longview home in 1966 and had many beloved neighbors that she thought of as family. She was known for having the best food and always feeding anyone who walked through her door. She was always making people laugh and would always tell you like it is. She enjoyed watching politics, especially George W Bush. She was even invited to attended his inauguration. She was a member of Summerfield United Methodist Church for over 40 years and loved the Lord. Services will be held Thursday June 7th, 2018 at two pm at Rader Funeral Home in Longview followed by a graveside service at Summerfield United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8pm at Rader Funeral Home.
