Anna Clara Minor, a beloved homemaker, passed away on October 18, 2023, in Henderson, TX. Born on June 15, 1930, in Golden, TX, to Vern and Anna Ferguson, Anna Clara was known for her deep love for her family and her unwavering commitment to their well-being.
Family was at the center of Anna Clara's life. As a dedicated mother, she raised her 6 children with unconditional love and care. Her presence filled their home with warmth and comfort, creating a loving environment that will be cherished by all for years to come.
Anna Clara found solace and joy in her faith, being an active member of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Her strong spiritual foundation provided her with strength and guidance throughout her life.
In her spare time, Anna Clara found immense pleasure in tending to her garden, particularly nurturing vibrant flowers that adorned her surroundings. She also enjoyed engaging in friendly competition, with 42 dominos being her favorite game. Whenever she had a moment to spare, she would challenge her loved ones to a spirited match. Anna Clara also had a passion for puzzles and crocheting, finding relaxation and fulfillment in these creative pursuits.
One of Anna Clara's notable accomplishments was the extensive research she undertook in tracing her family's genealogy. Through her diligent efforts, she managed to unravel a rich tapestry of her ancestry, reaching back to the late 1700s. Her dedication to preserving her family's history will forever be treasured by those she leaves behind.
The funeral service to honor the life of Anna Clara Minor will be held on October 21, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Rader Funeral Home in Henderson, TX. Following the ceremony, Anna Clara will be laid to rest in a burial at Hickory Grove Cemetery. Family and friends are kindly invited to join in paying their final respects and celebrating the life of this remarkable woman. Visitation with the family will begin at 1 pm before the service.
The family requests that those who desire may make a donation to Hospice of Texas in memory of Anna Clara Minor. The legacy she leaves behind will continue to inspire and bring comfort to those who were fortunate enough to know her.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Texas for the wonderful care they gave Anna.
She is survived by her children, Henry Vernon Minor (Johnnie), Neil Minor (Carla),Kim Minor ( Dana), Kathy Steveson, Anna Copeland and Jane Roy (Kevin). Grandsons: Marvin Steveson, Eugene Ridens, Jonathan Ridens, Michael Terry, Paul Minor, Mark Minor, Matt Osteen, Clay Minor and granddaughters: Charla Moyer, Cindy Hornsby, Tammie Dixon, Gail Diaz, April Snider, Lisa Diaz, Jaime Quiban, Kate Hays, and Rami McClelland.
Her sisters: Mary Ruth Hill, Lois Wakefield and Peggy Rodriguez and her sister-in-law, Catherine Birdwell.
17 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren and 24 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Henry Minor, Jr., brothers, Jack Beall and Doyle Ferguson. sisters, Martha Muncrief, Ella Lue Miller and Marie Cottrel. sons-in-law, Bob Steveson and Raymond Copeland. sister-in-law, Sandra Minor and grandson, Jason Osteen and great grandson, Steven Butler.
Pallbearers will be Matt Osteen, Marvin Steveson, Mark Minor, Koal Minor, Eugene Ridens and Ben Hays.
