Memorial services for Ann Wallace Light, 82, of Longview will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 23, 2009 at Hope Fellowship Church, 300 Hollybrook Dr., Longview, TX with Pastor Benjamin L. Andrus officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. She passed away Thursday, March 19, in a Longview hospital.
Mrs. Light was born March 12, 1927 in Glenwood, TX to Robert and Irene Wallace and was a longtime resident of the Longview area where she was the Valedictorian of the 1944 graduating class of New Diana High School. She was a longtime employee of F. W. Woolworth Co. and Perry Brothers stores in Longview. She was a very active member of Hope Fellowship Church. According to her beloved grandchildren, she made the best macaroni and cheese in the world.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 64 years, Dale C. Light; children, Dan Light of Dallas and Susan Kelly and husband Mike of Longview; grandchildren, Amber Maitland and husband Craig of Hallsville, Rachel Hudson and husband Baxter of Dallas and Scott Richey of Kilgore; great grandchildren, Matthew and Tyler Maitland of Hallsville; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Margaret Brumfiel of Longview.
