Ann Vanderwal's Obituary
Graveside services for Ann Vanderwal, 86, of Shreveport will be held at the Forest Park Cemetery West on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 1 p.m. under the direction of Rader Funeral Home in Longview, Texas with Reverend John Whitehurst officiating. Mrs.
Vanderwal passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2011 in Longview.
She was born in the Netherlands to Jan and Antje Voorneld on October 16, 1924. In her youth, she loved field hockey, sailing and ice skating. She also loved tending to her flower garden, but nothing was more important to her than family at home and in Holland. Mrs. Vanderwal was a member of the First Methodist Church in Shreveport and a member of the International Womens Club for many years.
She is survived by her husband Herman "Van" Vanderwal of Shreveport; son and daughter-in-law Herman Jan and Ronda Vanderwal of Longview; daughter and son-in-law Nan and Matt Anderson of Grapevine, Texas; grandchildren Amy and husband Kristopher Rutherford of Austin, Haley and husband Garrett Jones of Houston, Matthew, Grace and Paul Anderson of Grapevine; and extended family in the Netherlands. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
