Ann O. Nihart's Obituary
Services for Annie Ovazine Nihart, 83, of Longview, formerly of Gilmer and Simi Valley, California, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 18, 2004 at Greggton United Methodist Church in Longview with Revs. Lynne Settlemyre and Emmitt Barrow officiating. Burial will follow at Rosewood Park Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
Mrs. Nihart was surrounded by her family at home as she went to be with her Heavenly home. She had fought a courageous battle with cancer, as well as several other diseases.
Mrs. Nihart was born December 25, 1920 to Jesse and Jessie Pool in Dallas, Texas. She had been a teacher for 29 years, and enjoyed being retired for the last 24 years filling her days being involved in church activities, arts and crafts, cooking, sewing, gardening, and spoiling her grandchildren. She was a member of Greggton United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Jessie Pool; brother, O. V. Pool; sister, Margaret Perry; and daughter Beth Fitzner. Survivors include John Nihart, her husband of 66 years; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Pat and Don Albrecht, and Cecelia and Steve Fleet; son-in-law, Dr. Bernard Fitzner; 7 grandchildren, Jessica, Allyson, and Vanessa Brown, Johnnie and Gary Williams, Warren Fitzner, Ken Fitzner and wife, Helen; 5 step-grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren, also three sisters-in-law, Dot Chandler, Ruth Moran, Mary Wineinger and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday March 17, 2004 from 6pm until 8 pm.
Pallbearers will be Don Albrecht, Steve Fleet, Bernard, Ken, and Warren Fitzner, and Don Abbott
