Ann Cooper Holcomb's Obituary
Ann Holcomb passed away on March 31, 2016 at Good Shepherd Medical Center, Longview, Texas following a brief illness.
Graveside services will be held for family and friends at Sunset Cemetery, Gilmer, Texas on Tuesday, April 5, at 10:30AM with Reverend Melvin Rowland officiating.
Her life will be celebrated with an old-time Southern gospel singing at LaGrone Chapel United Methodist Church following the graveside service.
Marjorie Ann was born February 8, 1937 in Gilmer, Texas to Neil and Louise Stamps Cooper. She attended Gilmer and Union Grove schools, graduated from Gladewater High School in 1955. She continued her education at Texas Women's University.
Primarily a homemaker in Gladewater for 25 years, she also enjoyed her partnership in the Back Door Club before moving to Longview in 1986.
Ann appreciated what God put here for her to enjoy ~ East Texas, churches, animals and travel, helping those who needed her and loving her two cats, Max and Mr. Kitty.
Preceded in death by her loving parents and her beloved grandmother, Addie B. Minter and mother-in-law, Rose Holcomb.
She is survived by her daughter, Angela Holcomb of Kingwood, Texas, grandsons Ben and Dillon Zaruba of San Angelo and Zach Zaruba of San Antonio, son Jay Holcomb of Austin, sister Kay Cooper Bond and husband Gary and nephew Connor Bond of Austin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Longview Community Ministries, La Grone Chapel United Methodist Church, Wesley McCabe United Methodist Church or Winterfield UMC where Ann was a member for 20 years.
