Anita J. Parker's Obituary
Graveside services for Anita J. Parker, 83, of Longview will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Summerfield Methodist Cemetery with Father Gavin Vaverek officiating. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mrs. Parker passed away Saturday morning in a local hospital. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7-8 PM at the funeral home.
Anita was born on November 24, 1927 in Cisco, TX to Enos and Bessie Ellis. She was married to the love of her life, Quincy R. Parker for over 63 years. She loved to travel all over the country with her husband who retired from Sunoco several years. They settled in Longview in 1972. She loved sewing, cooking and taking good care of her family. Anita also loved vacationing in Branson Missouri, Pecos, Texas, Arkansas and Kerrville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Bill Ellis, and her sister, Martha "Sis" Holcombe.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Quincy R. Parker of Longview; her daughter, Rebecca Jean Parker of Longview; her son, Quincy R. Parker, JR and his wife Pam of Seabrook and Houston, TX; her sisters, Sue Leach of San Antonio and Peggy Jo Ellis of Pecos, TX; her grandchildren, Quincy R. Parker, III and his wife Melodie of League City and Drew Parker of Seabrook, TX; and her great grandson, Quincy R. Parker, IV and great granddaughter Merritt Parker both of League City, Texas. She is also survived my numerous nieces and nephews.
