Angela Michele Merritt's Obituary
Angela was called back to the Lord on the morning of Monday, August 25, 2025 at the age of 51. She was a beloved mother, daughter and sister as well as a friend and supporter of many others. Angela excelled in sports at both Gladewater and Dayton High Schools and graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a bachelor’s degree in history in 1997. When she went to Germany in 1998, she was able to embrace her love of history by traveling to places she only had previously read about. Despite all her struggles, she always had a smile on her face and was able to lend comfort and support to those around her in their time of need. No matter what challenges she faced in life, she gave it all she had and never gave up. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her son, Joshua Merritt Perez. She is survived by her parents Larry and Jackie Merritt of Liberty, Texas, her sister and brother-in-law Stephanie and Joseph Hoffman of White Oak, Texas, her sons Samuel Nesbitt Perez of Liberty, Texas and Connor O’Brien Perez of California as well as many family members and close friends. A Celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 14th at Pine Tree Cumberland Presbyterian Church located at 1805 Pine Tree Road in Longview, Texas.
