Amos Jody Smith's Obituary
Amos Jody Smith, of Overton, passed away November 17, 2022. Amos was born in Dallas, Texas, on April 9, 1977, to Gloria Smith. Amos attended Bryan Adams High School in Dallas, Texas. While there he enjoyed playing different sports. You could find him on Friday nights wearing number 72 for the Bryan Adams football team. When not on the gridiron he also enjoyed being part of the wrestling team and was also involved in weightlifting.
Amos loved the outdoors. When not working at Holt Cat Longview he could frequently be found riding ATV’s/UTV’s with family and friends. He also enjoyed boating and fishing. The thing he loved the most is spending quality time with his family and friends. Amos was always the life of the party. If you were not having a good time when you got there, Amos made sure you were in a good mood and laughing before you left. Amos will be remembered as a very caring and giving person, Amos loved to help people who needed it without any hesitation.
Amos is preceded in death by Grandparents Allen and Margaret Smith, and nephew Cody Pairett. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jahel Herrada, children Bailey Smith, Trenton Smith and Levi Smith, Mother Gloria Smith, sisters and brothers; Mary Pairett, Peter Baker, and Presley Smith.
A visitation will be held Sunday, November 20, 2022, from 5-7 PM at Rader Funeral Home in Longview. A celebration of his life will be held at 4 PM Monday, November 21, 2022, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home.
