On Tuesday, August 25th, Amanda Lyne Gray, loving wife and mother of two beautiful girls, passed away suddenly at the age of 37. Amanda was born November 10, 1983 in Garland, Texas. She resided in Longview, Texas with her husband, Read Obituary
Amanda was my daughter in-law for 3 short years. She was loved by my husband and myself. She was always caring and offering to help us with caring for my 92 year old mother in-law. Just days before passing she reached out and asked about my husband whom had been recently diagnosed with cancer. That was Amanda's nature! She will be missed very much and my heart breaks for McKenzi and Abigail now having to grow up without their mother. She is at peace with our Lord and Saviour!
I have very fond memories of my cousin Amanda as kids visiting our grandparents at Lake of the Ozarks in the summer. My earliest and maybe favorite was of us running and screaming into the house because we were terrified of the fireworks. I think we were only 4. We cuddled up hidden behind a chair until the adults came and got us. I was scared but also secretly enjoying all the excitement and bonding with my cousin.
We only got to see each other every few years because we lived so far away (Texas and Massachusetts), but I always enjoyed seeing her again. She had a terrific energy and sense of humor. Later I got to meet and spend time with her beautiful oldest daughter who was four at the time and looked just like her mama. Her daughter was so sweet and fun loving- just the way I remember Amanda.
She was a proud mother and caregiver and was full of life. It’s difficult to comprehend that she is no longer with us. Our family will miss Amanda very much and our thoughts and prayers are with her close family.
Amanda was my niece, & she definitely was one of a kind! Her smile would light up your heart when she came into a room. She loved to take care of people & would do anything to brighten up her patient's day (or anyone's day). She loved her children & the boys she inherited from her husband. That's all she talked about & posted a lot of positive comments & photos of them on Facebook. Our family is taking this pretty hard. This is a very different loss of one so young. Amanda will be deeply missed! Dianna, words fail me. I'm deeply sorry that you lost one of your daughters at such a young age (& so suddenly)! I've wanted to call you but only had an old number which was out of service. I can't believe I lost touch w/ you. I've always loved you & still consider you part of our family.
