Graveside services for Alvis Wayne Kennemer, 88, of Longview will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2006 at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Longview under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. He passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2006 in Longview.
Mr. Kennemer was born December 29, 1917 in Lamar County, Texas to Alvis Henry and Brasora Ethel Mahon Kennemer. He was a former employee of Dunaway Supply and was the former manager of the Sabine River Lumber Co. His last employment was in sales with Frisco Wholesale Lumber Co. He was a Staff Sergeant in the U. S. Army Air Corp during WWII, and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Kennemer was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia H. Kennemer; parents; brother and sister-in-law, Clint and Katherine Kennemer; and sister Dorothy Webber.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sons and daughters-in-law, Richard W. and Carole Kennemer of Los Gatos, CA, and James H. and Renea Kennemer of Bartonville, TX; daughters and son-in-law, Rebecca J and Tom Newton of Longview, and Carol Henson of Richardson, TX; 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
