Alvin "Nubbin" McCarty's Obituary
Alvin “Nubbin” McCarty, 79, of Lake Cherokee, passed away Monday morning in a Longview hospital. Cremation Arrangements are with Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
Nubbin was born on May 6, 1936 in Kilgore, TX to Alvis and Ruby McCarty. He proudly served his country in the US Army and was a member of Centre Presbyterian Church. Alvin had a long career in offshore drilling. He loved playing golf with his golfing buddies and loved spending time with his friends and family.
Mr. McCarty was preceded in death by his parents; and by one brother, Johnny McCarty.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 28 years, Linda McCarty; his son and daughter-in-law Harco and Diane McCarty; his grandson Josh McCarty; his sister, Mary Helen Grimes; brother-in-law Bobby Frazier and his wife Virginia; brother-in-law Don Frazier and his wife Sandra and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family request that memorial be made to Centre Presbyterian Church, 8531 FM 2011 Longview, TX 75603.
