Alton L. "Jack" Owens
Funeral services for Alton L. "Jack" Owens, 82, of Longview will be held at 12 Noon Monday, September 27, 2010 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with the Reverend Doug Wintermute officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. He passed away Saturday, September 25, in Longview.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Jack was born July 11, 1928 in Gregg County, TX to William and Lillian Owens. In his early years, he lived in Gilmer and attended school there and moved to Longview in 1953. He was the owner/operator of Owens Exxon in Longview from 1966 to 1991. Jack was a member of the Longview Masonic Lodge #404 and the Greggton United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 60 years, Earline Owens of Longview; daughter and son-in-law, Jacquelyn and Phil Sadler of Golden, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Joel and Laurie Owens of Marshall; grandchildren, Owen Sadler, Olivia Thompson, Grant Sadler, Jordan Owens, Dustin Owens, Dawson Owens, Josh Keith and Paige Grigsby; and 6 great grandchildren.
